TV Introduction
How to bring someone in closers, to introduce something to an audience. The introduction of anything is always one of the most important factors to consider in motion. Created to engage and interrupt.
The Setup
Making 2D, 3D
We all see in 2 dimensions, we simply perceive 3D by shadows and depth. We can re-create these feelings by “faking” them. By setting up good lightning around a 2D picture we can mimic lights on the scene. This allows us to produce something that feels 3D, yet took no time at all.
Scene Lighting
There are a total of 5 lights bringing the scene to life; 4 spot lights, 1 ambient light. We use two spot lights at the front and 1 ambient on the lamp, to mimic that of a 3 point lightning setup. We use another spot light from the far right to create a sort of window light source. The final light is from the TV as it switches on.
TV Switch
Switching the TV on I wanted to create the retro style from the 80’s in which when you turned a tv on, the tv would load static while it tried to find the channel. I used a spot light to bring the brightness up around the TV as it switched on, and created a simple walk motion for the camera.
